Scary Reads in June-image

Adventure, action, and romance all make for a great story, but sometimes we just want to be scared silly; and there are a lot of ways to accomplish that — scary movies or sitting around a campfire telling spooky stories. But when you’re home alone at your Atlanta, GA Arrive Perimeter apartment at night, one of the best ways to creep yourself out is a horror novel. Here are two spooky books to check out this month: I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells “John Wayne Cleaver is dangerous, and he knows it. He's spent his life doing his best not to live up to his potential. He's obsessed with serial killers, but really doesn't want to become one. So for his own sake, and the safety of those around him, he lives by rigid rules he's written for himself, practicing normal life as if it were a private religion that could save him from damnation. “Dead bodies are normal to John. He likes them, actually. They don't demand or expect the empathy he's unable to offer. Perhaps that's what gives him the objectivity to recognize that there's something different about the body the police have just found behind the Wash-n-Dry Laundromat — and to appreciate what that difference means. Now, for the first time, John has to confront a danger outside himself, a threat he can't control, a menace to everything and everyone he would love, if only he could.” Space Eldritch Short Story Collection “Science fiction goes occult in SPACE ELDRITCH, a volume of seven original novelettes and novellas of Lovecraftian pulp space opera. Featuring work by Brad R. Torgersen (Hugo/ Nebula/Campbell nominee), Howard Tayler (multiple Hugo nominee), and Michael R. Collings (author of over 100 books), plus a foreword by New York Times bestselling author Larry Correia, SPACE ELDRITCH inhabits the intersection between the eternal adventure of the final frontier and the inhuman darkness between the stars.”

3 Signs You're About to Get Fired-image

Welcome back to the Arrive Perimeter Blog. Today, we’re sharing three signs your job could be in jeopardy. Take a few minutes in your apartment to read through today’s blog post and see if it might be time to start job hunting in Atlanta, GA. 1. Poor Performance Reviews Just because you’ve received one or more bad performance reviews does not mean you’re going to get fired, but it can mean that time is coming. If your performance rating has to do with lack of training, employers will most likely accommodate your needs with a specific plan in place. If you’re placed on an improvement plan, don’t take it to mean that you’re getting fired. You might just be paranoid. Everyone could be rooting for you to make it. Are you? 2. You’re being Micromanaged If your boss is looking over your every shoulder, it can cause some uncomfortable situations. You might feel overwhelmed. You probably feel a lack of trust. If your boss has all of a sudden been micromanaging you, then this could be a sign that your job is in jeopardy. 3. Bad Relationship with your Boss It’s not too uncommon: you have a close, even friendly, relationship with your boss and now you don’t. Your manager might even avoid you; this is a definite red flag . “When the decision has been made, your manager will not want to converse with you any more than necessary lest a word should slip that lets you in on the plan. He has most likely chosen the perfect time to tell you the bad news and has no desire to change that. He may be waiting for the end of a pay period or the completion of a project you're involved in.” Of course, this could just be speculation. Almost any relationship can be repaired. Prove that you can be a reliable employee. Complete that project you’ve been promising you’d finish and be on time for work to start. There are plenty of things you can do to repair a poor boss-to-employee relationship .   Share any other signs that your job might be in trouble by commenting below. Thanks for reading!

Laundry Day Tips-image

Having hookups for a washer and dryer is one of our many amenities available for residents. Not only is the setup of these appliances straightforward, It also beats driving around Atlanta, GA in search of an open laundromat on a Saturday night. Today, our Arrive Perimeter Blog has a few laundry day tips to help you conquer the laundry on the day of your choosing. Doing laundry in your apartment may sound boring, but there are ways to make it easier and more effective. Stain Treatment Print out a basic stain removal guide and hang it by your washer; that way you will know what you need to make a solution for treating stains where and when you need it. For a more in-depth stain removal information refer to this Stain Solutions Guide put out by the University of Illinois’ Extension Office. Washing & Drying It may seem like a hassle, but Lifehacker suggests checking the tags . Before you start washing, check the tags on each item of clothing. This will help you determine just how to wash each load. You can then sort your laundry by tag. Which clothes need to be washed in cold water? Warm water? Does an item need to be hand washed or dry cleaned? Washing your clothing correctly will help it last longer. Throw a dry towel into your dryer with wet laundry — it will absorb moisture and speed up the drying process. Fold items right out of the dryer to help them keep those crisp fold lines while in your drawers. Other Tips Don’t lose socks! Provide each member of your household with a zippered mesh bag for dirty socks. On laundry day collect, zip, wash, dry, and then return. No more lost socks! Babble recommends pre-sorting your laundry by having several hampers. Put your laundry into each hamper right away — this will save you time (and a lot of hassle) when you’re throwing your laundry into the machine on laundry day. We hope you find these tips helpful! What are your tips for making laundry day go smoothly? Please share in the comments so we can all benefit. Thanks for reading today’s post.

Make this upcoming holiday extra special in Atlanta, Georgia. If you’d like to add something striking to your dinner table (apart from something delicious, of course) this Standing Fan napkin fold speaks for itself. First, lay the napkin face-down. Fold in half so that the opening is facing you. Then fold the napkin like an accordion. Begin on one side and work your way to the other end. Leave about 2 to 3 inches unfolded. Fold the napkin in half so that the folds are on the outside, then tuck the unfolded corners in diagonally under the accordion folds. The last step is to open the napkin and stand it up. While these directions might seem complicated, the above link has pictures for every step of the way. Another great option to set the scene and mood at your dinner table is this DIY Wooden Candle Holder Centerpiece . Board Game Recommendations-image

Now that the major holidays have passed, it’s nice to sit back and take a little break. Today, we’re sharing a few board game recommendations with residents at Arrive Perimeter in Atlanta, GA. Invite a few friends over to your apartment and enjoy a night of fun and games. Mysterium If you’re a fan of murder mysteries, then this game is for you! Mysterium has beautiful components, stunning artwork, and plenty of mysterious characters. Designed for 2-7 players, ages 10 and up. “Mysterium is a cooperative, deduction game that challenges two to seven players to solve a murder that occurred thirty years ago. One player takes on the role of a restless ghost, tasked with communicating the true culprit of the murder to the assembled psychics. The other players all play as psychics, receiving visions and interpreting them to the best of their abilities in order to narrow down the list of suspects.” Captain Sonar This game is like Battleship, only better! Take the classic game to the next level when you put team against team in this quick-paced battle. This is for 2-8 players, ages 12 and up. “Captain Sonar is an innovative real-time game that challenges two teams to take their submarines head-to-head in a thrilling battle. Your ultimate goal is to find and destroy your opponent’s submarine, but this task is far more difficult than it may first appear. Your entire crew must work together to chart a course, charge systems, locate the enemy, and keep your own submarine fully operational. Communication and teamwork can lead you to victory, but if you fail to cooperate, you’ll be sunk to the bottom of the ocean!” Ice Cool Keep cool this month with a game about penguins racing for fish during their lunch break! This is a simple game for 2-4 players, ages 6 and up. “Penguins slide through the school in this game of skill. In each round, one player becomes a person on duty (hall monitor). His goal is to catch the rest of the Penguins who are running around trying to collect fish.” Do you have a favorite board game to play in your apartment here in Atlanta, Georgia?
